...the other day in FNP school we learned how to suture/stitch/sew...whatever you want to call it. We practiced this skill using pig's feet. Basically, we took a scalpel and made an incision on our pig's feet. Then we numbed him up with our fake lidocaine (saline) and completed the suturing. We did this process over and over for a few hours. It was awesome- not poking people with needles, but that I know how to suture someone's major cut!

I love suturing!! So much fun. But I've always hated pigs feet. gross.
Way cooler than scrapbooking or quilting.
your coolness factor just went up a few notches! Seriously!!! If I get cut I will call you.
That is SO awesome! Gross that you had to use pig feet but at least you didn't have to poke & stitch people! Thats really exciting!
The doctor sam has been shadowing told him he should go buy a pigs foot and practice doing that. Maybe you can teach him what to do.
SOOO great- I'm kinda jealous. I am glad you are liking school- Keep posting fun stuff like this
sounds like a crazy experience-i think I may have been slightly grossed out by it all but it would still be really cool to learn how to suture. I am super impressed with you and the Moab half marathon-that is awesome that you did so well. My sister and I are running one this weekend and I am worried it will be snowing on us but I promised myself I would do it regardless. glad things are going so well for you:)
That's cool!! Gross... but cool! I wonder if my husband will get to practice on pig's feet, too... hmmm.
I learned how on cows tongue! yuck.
OK that is awesome......Good job with your blog posts. They are so fun to read!
